Ok...I figured out how to put my pics on here but I don't know how to move them to the bottom or how to put captions under the pics so I'll try to do it here. The pic of Isabella in the sleeveless striped top is of her first haircut. She was a little over 1 year old. The pics of her in the long sleeve top were made at Laura's 21st birthday party. I love her expression w/ Laura & how she's looking at that piece of cake like she really wants it. hehehe Bob is holding her in the one pic. The pic of her by the Christmas tree is the one that was sent out with Mark & Lindsey's Christmas cards. Please forgive my incompetence!!!! Below is how I had planned to start my new entry: I decided I needed to update and I don't have alot of time so I'm going to try to put the Christmas letter here that I sent to friends I don't see or hear from very often. Also, I'm gonna try to put up a picture of my precious grandaughter, Isabella. Ok...here goes....wish me luck...hehehe December 2008 Merry Christmas Everyone! We pray this finds everyone doing well & that you've had a great year in 2008. I'm sorry we didn't send christmas cards last year. Bob had full knee replacement surgery on both knees during the holidays so alot of things were left undone. Bob also turned 60 this year so that was a big birthday for him. It was also a wakeup call that his retirement is fast approaching. He's not working as much overtime so that is helping him "hang in there" until he does retire. Bob's less overtime & future retirement means I'll be entering the work force again. I'm wanting to be a substitute teacher & get my foot in the door of the school system & then, hopefully, get a job as a teacher's aide. I would love to still have my summers free. I'm still a mentor for our youth group at church & feel so blest to serve these awesome kids. We have an average of 55 to 60 kids so they keep us busy. Mark & Lindsey & our precious grandaughter, Isabella are all doing fine. Mark is still at Donnellys & Lindsey is working part time at the YMCA nursery. They were able to move into a larger house after Isabella was born & are enjoying having more room for all the toys & baby stuff that comes with having a little one. Isabella is 17 months old now & she's SO adorable in SO many ways! I LOVE being a grandma. I hope to send a picture of Isabella w/ this card. It's hard to catch her being still & smiling at the same time. :) Also, I need to learn how to get a picture from a digital camera/computer into an actual picture. I'm so lost in this world of technology!!! Laura is still at Lindsey Wilson College & she's still our associate youth pastor. She loves working with our youth AND we love having her home most every Wednesday & weekends to serve our youth. She hopes to graduate next Christmas & after a small break, start her teaching career. This summer, she plans to sing at Carnigie Hall with the LWC Singers & hopes to study abroad in London for 1 to 2 months depending on her schedule. She's very excited about these 2 things to say the least. Laura & I took a mom & daughter road trip to Connecticut this summer to visit my brother. I was in Heaven having her all to myself for those 4 days on the road! We've had an address change. Our new address is "243 Wildcat Road". We didn't move, it's just a street name change. We've been happy here for 20 years & hope to be here another 20 years. Plus, our basement has way too much stuff (junk) to ever consider a move. hehehe We pray everyone has a wonderful Christmas and that God blesses you & yours abundantly in 2009! Much love, Bob, Sandra & Laura Drats.....I can't figure out how to get the picture on here. Maybe I can catch Laura long enough to help me. Oh well, I'm gonna submit this entry anyway. MAY GOD BLESS YOU & YOURS ABUNDANTLY IN 2009!!!! | | |
| Just thought I'd post a youtube of my daughter rapping. She is a member of the Lindsey Wilson's "Singers" group & they were on tour throughout the southwest. She's the one performing on "Day Four/white girls rap too" For those of you who might not understand her words....it's a Christian Rap song. Hope you enjoy....... Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxKu20S1mNE&mode One other thing. My husband is doing much better....thank you so much for your prayers. He's hoping to be able to go back to work soon. We had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a great 2008. I pray all my xanga friends & their families have a great 2008 also! | | |
| Please pray for my precious husband, Bob. He had total knee replacement on both of his knees on Monday. He had some heart complications which delayed him going to SKY, the rehab facility for his therapy. He's been throughly checked by a cardiologist & things have been cleared & he's going to rehab today. He's such a brave man to have both of his knees done at once. He has been battling his knees since an injury at work over 8 months ago. He has battled workman's comp too which is why his surgery was delayed. It's put alot of things into perspective for me. I don't know what I'd do without my husband in my life. I thank God for sending him to me 28 years ago & for 27 precious years of marriage. We've had our ups & downs like most married couples but he is my ROCK. My quite, consistant, full of integrity, always there for me, full of unconditional love for me, a man of God, always working on a vehicle, washer, dryer, or anything that needs fixing, always faithful, rarely critical, loves me for me, wonderful father of my children, kind of husband. I could go on & on but I need to get ready. I am a very blest woman & I pray that God let's me be more of the wife that he deserves. Any prayers for him would be greatly appreciated! Thank you......... | | |
